Un an après mon entrée sur le territoire Brésilien (avec mon visa de travail) me voilà enfin en possession de mon document d’identité Brésilien : le Registre National d’Étranger (RNE) qui est plus ou moins équivalent à notre carte nationale d’identité. Ce document est réservé aux étrangers résidents temporairement ou définitivement au Brésil. 

Each time more Brazilian

A year after entering Brazil with my temporary work visa, I finally received my official Brazilian ID. The National Foreigners’ Registry  (Registro Nacional de Estrangeiro) is a personal identification for foreign individuals living temporary or permanently in Brazil.

Je viens vous annoncer une nouvelle que j’attendais avec une certaine impatience: J’ai enfin récupéré mon passeport avec mon précieux visa de travail de 2 ans pour le Brésil.

Comme je l’annonçais ici, dans un précédent “billet”, ce visa est une étape importante pour mon évolution professionnelle et personnelle, je pars avec beaucoup de projets et d’espoirs.

Ce jeudi 10 Juillet je prendrais donc un vol sans billet retour ou du moins pas avant un bon moment. Je commence officiellement avec SAP Brasil le lundi 14 Juillet, un jour définitivement symbolique !

Et voilà donc le genre de bout de papier qui change une vie:

When I was myself considering buying this bag I found many excellent reviews with lots of pictures, even videos, of either the Slingshot 100 OR the Slingshot 200 but what I was looking for was a direct comparison of the two models. I was not able to find any review showing me the exact differences in between the two bags. Not a single image of the two Slingshots side by side illustrating how much bigger is the 200 compared to the 100.

I recently had the opportunity to have the two bags in my hands so I decided to fill the gap with this post. My goal here is not to describe one bag or the other since, as I said, you will find tons already existing. My goal is simply to show you both bags really side by side and help you to get a better idea of the size difference.

Now if you are interested by my own experience: I went for the Slingshot 100 AW.

I already owned a Mini Trekker AW that can contain ALL my gear also I was searching for a rather small and light bag but still big enough to carry the basic gear I could need for a day (with a reduced amount of lenses).

So far I must confess I was happy with the size of my Slingshot 100 since it holds the following gear:

• Nikon D300 + 18-70mm lens attached
• Nikkor 50mm f1.4
• Tamron 70-210mm
• SB-800 with the diffuser attached
• A plastic box for a filter
• A box of Moo cards
• A set of 4 CF cards
• One spare battery for the camera
• Some lens cleaning tissues
• Wallet, cell phone & sun glasses

Yes I think that’s it and that’s all I want. The Slingshot 200 is also great but in my case it would just be redundant with my Mini Trekker AW which makes no sense for me.

I love that Slingshot bag, its ability to give me a quick access to my camera is unique.

Me voilà fraichement débarqué en France, à Nice, après 3 avions, quelques difficultés techniques, et juste un jour de retard. C’est ça les voyages :)

Le bouquet c’est le décalage horaire et la petite insomnie de la première nuit… bon, rien de grave. Je suis bien heureux d’être de retour sur mes terres d’origine, de revoir mes parents, et vous aussi – mes amis – très bientôt. Le rendez-vous fixé pour se revoir “une dernière fois” avant mon retour au pays de la Samba c’est le 29 Juin, c’est un dimanche, réservez-le si vous pouvez. J’aurais des tas de photos à vous montrer et des récits de voyage à partager. Je serais vraiment heureux de vous revoir.

My friends, I just received this excellent news that I wanted to share here with you.
My two years work visa for Brazil has finally been approved ! Yeahhh.
I’ll be back to France for some weeks, enjoying Côte d’Azur like never before I guess.
Having this visa I will finally be able to settle in Brazil, I was looking so much forward this. I am so happy.
